Supporting the sewing initiative of Waldkirch Senior Citizens’ Council e.V.

Over 2,000 face masks sewn and donated

Many facilities such as mobile care services, retail employees or food banks are currently in urgent need of face masks, but are no longer receiving any as these are largely reserved for clinics. According to the motto “Waldkirch stands together”, the Waldkirch Senior Citizens’ Council e.V. and the city of Waldkirch have thus called for the sewing of face masks in a joint action.

The response to this joint call was overwhelming. More than 80 people from Waldkirch started sewing and handed in their masks to the city. A&E Gütermann was also very pleased to support this great local community initiative by donating threads and fabrics to the Waldkirch Senior Citizens’ Council e.V. In the meantime, over 2000 face masks have been sewn and donated to local the fire brigade, St. Nikolai, the food banks, the assisted living centre and to the German Red Cross. Employees of the town hall and other municipal institutions were also provided with masks.
